Enviroschools

Taieri Beach School is proud to be an Enviroschool.

The aim of Enviroschools is to foster a generation of people who instinctively think and act sustainably.

The Enviroschools kaupapa (philosophy) is about creating a healthy, peaceful and sustainable world by working with and learning from nature. It incorporates Māori perspectives and emphasises connections between people and the natural world: loving, caring and respecting ourselves, each other and our
planet.

The Enviroschools programme supports children in planning, designing and implementing sustainability actions that are important to them and their communities.

THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE ENVIROSCHOOL AND NATURE SCHOOL
The Nature School philosophy of encouraging children to enjoy and interact with nature; to learn in, about and from nature compliments the sustainability kaupapa of Enviroschools:
If we want children to flourish, to become truly empowered, then let us allow them to love the earth before we ask them to save it.
