It took many weeks with lots of patience and care by the children  to create the Picasso style fish paintings for our school fence.
We love the vibrant colours that were chosen and hope the community enjoy them too when passing by our school.

 Hi everyone!

I am a teacher at Taieri Beach School. I am going to be starting the local playgroup back up in Term 3, along with my 1year old daughter. I am really excited to have the opportunity to bring this back to the community! It will be held in the school library from 10am every Tuesday during the school term. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I am looking forward to meeting everyone in a few weeks.

On the 5th of July Delrio played in the Tokoiti School hockey team against other Clutha schools in a hockey tournament.

They won 2 games and Delrio scored 1 goal in the last game in the last minute.

My job was the photographer and I took lots of action photos. It was a fun day.

I am building a block and tackle pulley out of the K’Nex for our Pulleys and Levers topic that we have been learning this term. A block and tackle pulley can lift very heavy objects like car engines and pianos. The block is the frame that holds the pulley. The tackle is the rope, cord or chain. The block and tackle type pulley helps by making the work easier, making it possible to lift things that are too heavy for us to lift on our own, with ease.

We are learning about cloud formations and decided to create an observation card. We can take it outside and identify the clouds we see through the  window in the card and compare them to the pics we have around the outside of the card.

Lately there has been many cloudy days!!

We are nearly there with this area, still a few fairy paths to create and maybe a wishing well!

In summer time it will be surrounded by flowers to add more colour and happiness to this area.

So many items to create for our butterfly garden and these wooden art posts will bring so much colour into this area.Once all have been installed we will take another photo but Reina's "Welcome" post was the first to be placed in the area.

We think it looks great and hope you like it too.

We have such talented artists at TBS, they used their amazing imagination and painted wonderful art on an old post box we had. They have turned it into a beautiful fairy house for our butterfly and sensory garden area.

We do hope the bright colours we have used will attract the butterflies in springtime.

This project is coming along nicely, Michael and Reina added a base to the top of the frame that Delrio designed. Michael then measured how many slats of timber we would need in order to cover the frame over the stump.

He then cut them to size and drilled 2 holes on either side of the timber slats so we could loop cabbage leaves through and tie them to the frame.
Reina did a super job tying the knots and making sure they were very tight.
We then collected moss from the shady areas of the school and placed it all on top, so the fairy village could be created.

More pics to follow.
