On Wednesday it was the Ukulele Jam at Tahuna sShool. And all the seniors except Ra went. We played lots of songs like Utaina, Tutira Mai, Amawole, 7 years, History and lots of others. I liked it when we played History because the band was awesome and the kids played and sang really good. At the end of the day we were lucky to get hot chips and go to the Dinosaur Park!

Taieri music festival

Taieri music festival by Ra

On Wednesday night the year four to seven children went to the the town hall to sing for the Taieri music festival. The concert started at around 7pm. We sang 9 songs in total including the New Zealand national anthem,  California Dreaming,  We Can Dream, and a few more. I felt really confident singing the songs and I think we did a good job. Along with the songs we sang, there were guest acts. The best guest act in my opinion was the brass band. The concert lasted for about an hour and a half. I felt quite tired after doing all that singing.

The Duck Competition

Last Friday we had a competition. It wasn't any old competition, it was a duck competition! We had to make ducks out of newspaper and any type of tape. There was different categories they were, most  colourful, most creative and most inventive. Ra's duck was an egg, a duck egg! He threw it and won when he has thrown it 11.70m! And Nate threw his duck 10.68m. We really had a awesome day! By Lily.

Paper Plane Masters

Recently the senior students put their understanding of length to the ultimate test. The children had worked hard to design the best possible plane for this important competition. The results were very mixed with some children screaming for joy due to their success, while others were left wondering what went wrong. At the end of the competition Hayley was the victor with a record flight of 12.21 metres.

School Trip

Today the whole school went on a fantastic trip. We visited the Early Settlers Museum and learnt plenty of great information about the history of Taieri Mouth.
