Great children, great staff and great learning programmes! 😀

We recycled an old plastic pot by decorating it with cabbage leaves and lichen. We coated it with exterior PVA and now its ready for a special succulent plant that was given to us as a gift.

Lots of hard work has gone into the preparation of our vegetable gardens this year. We are trying companion planting using garlic chives, thyme and rosemary amongst our vegetables to hopefully keep those pesky bugs away. Unfortunately we have a pesky possum who overnight ate our strawberry flowers, snap peas and all the blueberries off our small bush.

We have set up the nets to wrap around a few of our patches, hoping this might be a deterrent , holding thumbs!

If anybody has extra vegetable seedlings that they don't need we would be very happy to accept them.

There is nothing like young chickens to remind us that spring is in the air!

Many thanks Stacey for bringing the chickens to school.

Reina and Ryker have made little teepees to house their little walnut babies and have created a wonderful area where earthworms can come visit and feel quite at home. They have built a little bridge so they can visit each other and made the garden area very pretty with shells, pine cones and sticks.

Koriana-Mei created a beautiful wind chime for Paradise using vines, spoons and old tins she painted. She is hoping to create more items to bring colour and music to our special area. We hung it up today on a branch and it looks fantastic.

Great job Koriana-Mei.

Sensory Track

Michael and Delrio designed a track in Paradise where their class mates had to be led around the course while being blindfolded and barefoot. They both had a turn being guided on the track so they would have an idea how different  and tricky it is when your eyes are closed.

They created so many different textured areas MOSTLY using items found in nature. Delrio did a great job guiding everybody as they walked along and Michael made sure items were kept in place. What fun it was especially the last tyre that was filled with cold oily pasta so that it felt like a huge tub of earthworms!

There was a lot of laughter, smiles and screams by everyone.

I wonder what their next design will be.

Manda absolutely loves pandas. Today Koriana-mei and Manda made some gorgeous panda chocolate cupcakes with Chrissie. They are almost too cute to eat!

We have decided "Paradise" needed a real spruce up to make it a more of a magical place to spend time in. First thing was to create a few windows for our tree that we all like to climb. Delrio drilled all the holes so we could hang them up on the tree.  We still need to design a door at the base but so far it's looking great.
