Lots of hard work has gone into the preparation of our vegetable gardens this year. We are trying companion planting using garlic chives, thyme and rosemary amongst our vegetables to hopefully keep those pesky bugs away. Unfortunately we have a pesky possum who overnight ate our strawberry flowers, snap peas and all the blueberries off our small bush.

We have set up the nets to wrap around a few of our patches, hoping this might be a deterrent , holding thumbs!

If anybody has extra vegetable seedlings that they don't need we would be very happy to accept them.

There is nothing like young chickens to remind us that spring is in the air!

Many thanks Stacey for bringing the chickens to school.

Reina and Ryker have made little teepees to house their little walnut babies and have created a wonderful area where earthworms can come visit and feel quite at home. They have built a little bridge so they can visit each other and made the garden area very pretty with shells, pine cones and sticks.
