Ryker had lots of fun searching for insects around the school with his giant magnifying glass and using a macro lens to take a photo of each insect. He took a closer look at all the details you can see on a fly and slater and discovered such interesting information. Ryker wanted to know what the lines were on the flys wings. We thought they might be veins but after he Google searched we learnt they are called Flex lines and help the fly to fly really well. He also couldn't believe how compound eyes work and now understands why they are so fast when you try swatting them becAUse they can see so well from all sides!!

It was so good to work outside on our bean bags in front of the bird feeder, watching the bellbird chase away the sparrows from the sugar water but it wasn't brave eNough to chase the Tui's away.
