Māori Cloak
One of the names for a Māori cloak is Korowai. The Korowai is worn with respect, honour and love. We made a Korowai with Mrs Lunn. We each made two feathers with things that are special to us, on them. First we drew the feathers then we drew the things that are special to us. Next we coloured them in and after that we dyed the feathers. When they were all dry we made them into a beautiful Korowai. It was a lot of fun to make the Korowai and I think it looks really nice.

We made Matariki Stars from a circle of cardboard with evenly spaced slots around the edge. We wove different coloured wool around and through the slots to make some very beautifully patterned stars. We are very proud of our work.
